Jango’s Success Stories

Bootcamp Testimonial

Like most people who have wanted to get properly fit, I’ve tried all the usual methods and then some. You know, gym membership, personal trainer, running, cycling, swimming, squash, tennis and tiddlywinks!

In short – I’ve had very moderate success with my aforementioned methods. The difference with the Jango formula is it actually works and produces very quick results. Now, don’t be disheartened by that phrase “quick results”. I’m sure you’ve heard that losing weight quickly isn’t the way to do it, as you will put it back on quickly as well, which is perfectly true if after your initial success you suddenly decide to abandon your newly found healthy eating lifestyle and go back to eating cakes for breakfast. The truth be told, it doesn’t matter what stage you are at with your weight loss & fitness….even after 2 years, if you eat more cakes than carrots, you will get fat again!! I know, I’ve been there!

That then folks is where the Jango formula differs from everything else I’ve ever tried.

Let me expand further and explain why!

When you join any Gym, they go through a nice induction, ask you what you want to achieve and spend an hour or so showing you how to use the equipment and doing a plan that’s specific to what you want to achieve. Very nice, and for that first session or so you’re pretty keen.

However, after a few weeks the novelty wears off, you go less and less or for shorter sessions.

Now, unless you’re “the” most self motivated person in the world (when I say self motivated, I’m talking marine style motivation), then it’s the easiest thing for that little voice in your head to say, “I’ll go tomorrow”, or, “I’m to tired”, or, ”blah blah blah excuse after excuse after excuse”! But you leave the membership direct debit active…..just in case! A few months go by, which then turn into several months, and before you know it you’re several quid out of pocket! Yes, you may have been again for the odd session, but my point is that initial enthusiasm wore off pretty quickly and thus that odd session has turned out to be darned expensive. Now the reason you left the DD in place was purely psychological in the first place (just to make you feel better, convincing yourself that you’re a member of a gym - “YEAH!”, giving you that nice warm fuzzy feel good factor….which is great if that’s all you want, but a warm shower will have the same effect, or I could suggest some DVD’s to watch – both will cost you an awful lot less as well!) – and those crafty gym membership people know that as well! The fact is that gyms thrive on unused gym memberships….it’s their bread n butter!

Your typical gym doesn’t have motivation on tap either. Once you’ve had that initial induction then you are pretty much left to your own devices. Yes you can do other classes with an instructor, but it’s either more expense or the top brass full gym membership!

But the most important #1 factor in all this, which I have only learned since attending Jango’s Bootcamp, is that eating right and sticking to a healthy eating plan is THE most important thing to do! Over the past few months, from the links and information that Jango has emailed his members, one quote has popped up over and over again, and that is “bodies are made in the kitchen and not the gym!”

Now, notice I’ve said “healthy eating plan” and not used the word “diet”! From what I’ve learnt since joining Bootcamp, a healthy eating plan is a way of changing the way you view food and adopting and adapting it into your lifestyle until it forms a habit. A diet suggests a short term change in eating, whereby as soon as your diet finishes, then the old habits flood back in and your weight goes back on, thus making you feel even worse and more deflated than you were before.

The diet industry is worth an absolute fortune on which those naughty gurus who push pills and potions also thrive on mass failure! Wouldn’t be much of an industry if it made everyone thin would it? Be no fat people left to part with their money! And that’s what the word “diet” now means to me – “failure”! Now, whenever I see anything with the word diet on it, I give it a wide birth……..diet = failure!

I’ve described the way Jango does things as a formula, because that’s exactly what it is – A well carefully calculated Formula:-

Bootcamp

= Interval Cardio & Resistance Training + Healthy Eating Plan

+ Motivation + Nutrition Advice + Personal & Group Support

= Weight Loss & Fitness Success

My own weight loss & increased fitness isn’t something I’ve taken lightly! I’m now feeling the best I’ve felt in the past 3 years. I’ve found that it’s had a massive life changing effect on my depression – mainly due to an increase in motivation, energy, confidence and my overall out look and zest for life again.

The Bootcamp group or family are also such a lovely bunch of people from all walks of life, and we all support & encourage each other via our Bootcamp facebook page as well, plus I’ve made some lovely friends as well.

In finishing, I cannot recommend Bootcamp enough – it’s simplicity and uncomplicated method’s are it’s success and long may it continue……as for my own success – well, just watch this space!

Honestly, I’ve been lying to myself for years about how ‘happy’ I apparently was being this size! I’ve told myself “I’ll do something about it soon”. That day just didn’t come. If my weight was mentioned to me or I had to directly talk about it, I got emotional and would tear up, unable to speak about it.

I’ve wasted years of evenings on the sofa watching rubbish TV that I neither remember nor care about. I’ve lost countless weekends to sloth like behaviour not making an effort to spend some quality time with friends and family. I’ve eaten for convenience. The shops certainly helped me no end, by providing ‘just bung it in the oven’ trays of fatty, sugary, carbed up meals and of course those monster portions didn’t fill ME up, so that meant pudding!!!

Each year, from the age of 20 to 30 I just increased in size!!! Taking the stairs got harder and it was embarrassing how much I struggled. If someone walked with me I couldn’t hold a conversation with them, all they’d get was my puffed and panting big red face (and that’s just the first flight!).

But now, those days are over!!!

I’ve never felt so in control of my own life. I can see the pounds melting away. I spring out of bed in the morning looking forward to seeing the other bootcampers (and joining them in a moan at how hard Jango is working us that day, nothing sinister of course?!?!). I’m more organised at home and enjoy planning my healthy meals and snacks for the week, before I go shopping.

I love having people say to me “have you lost weight?” YEAH I HAVE!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Jango. I’m so lucky to be part of this process, I highly recommend it.

People of significant size tend to steer clear of group activities like this, because of body image, paranoia or embarrassment (I know I did for years). But they need to find that bit of courage to turn up just once (getting through the door is the hardest bit). Then they can see how Jango tailors the bootcamps to fit individuals. No one gets singled out or left behind and the support and encouragement is endless. I must have done 40 or so bootcamps and not one of them has been the same as a previous session - you’d think he’d have run out of ideas by now, but he seems to keep providing that variety. Jango spends the last 5 minutes of each session getting feedback from everyone on likes and dislikes of the morning; he then tailors the next bootcamp to fit – Absolute Genius!

I’ve got a long way left to go, but there is nothing but light at the end of that tunnel.

Jango Fitness Bootcamp Testimonial – Aimi Healey

Since moving to Bournemouth in September, I had kept intending to start losing weight and getting into shape but always had an excuse to stop me getting started. After Christmas I dabbled a little bit with a military style bootcamp but quickly realised that it wasn’t for me – the lack of encouragement and exercise tailored to my (total lack of) ability meant I ended up completely discouraged and feeling worse than ever.

I had seen Jango’s website and read some great reviews and was plucking up the courage to contact him about joining his bootcamp sessions when I saw his ad on Gumtree looking for people to take the ‘Every Loser Wins’ 12 week challenge. I decided then and there to contact him and as I’m fairly lazy I thought the incentive of doing it for charity would spur me on when my willpower was at its lowest.

We started training on 1st June. Beforehand, I was really nervous and had no idea what to expect. The session was hard but everyone there was friendly and encouraging and all the ‘Every Loser Wins’ team were in the same boat, so we propped each other up when it got toughest.

In the 6 weeks since that session, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my fitness levels – I’ve still got an extremely long way to go, but I’ve lost a stone and dropped almost two dress sizes. I’ve also completely changed my eating habits. Previously I would eat loads of sugary foods, carbs and fattening junk but now I give a lot of thought to my diet and with preparation and a bit of extra effort, I’m eating really healthily and really thinking about what it is I’m putting into my body. I’ve got so much more energy than I ever had before, my skin looks great, my blood pressure has dropped, my awful eczema has completely cleared up and my confidence is beginning to make a comeback.

Every session I’ve been to has been different so there’s no boredom or constant repetition and it’s great to notice the little ways my fitness is improving. I’m still out of breath after running hard, but I can run so much further than when I started, I’ve conquered the evil foam pit and I can do a proper ‘grown up’ plank now too! It’s really hard work but the feeling of accomplishment (and relief!) after the session is amazing and you get so much support from Jango and the other bootcampers. I’ve met some great people and I’m having so much fun doing it.

I’m so excited about the next 6 weeks and beyond! I would honestly recommend Jango’s bootcamp to anyone. It’s hard work but its hard work with actual results, its super motivating and it’s turned me from someone who was happiest vegging out on the sofa with a big pile of snacks into what I’ve long wanted to be; someone who actually WANTS to exercise.

Last year i turned 50 was over weight and heading for a size 18 but did that make me do anything about it,big fat NO. I carried on each week saying i would do some thing but never did.
Then back in april i saw an ad in the local paper saying that Jango was looking for 10 people to join a 12 week boot camp to lose weight and get fit. I thought is was my chance to get fit and
lose all this fat i was carrying around. So when in june i was picked i thought hooray and i started my journey. I am losing the weight over a stone in 6 weeks and i feel better to. At 1st it was very hard but over the 7 weeks i am getting better at doing the excise and even the early morning are getting easier, same days i have done 2 boot camps one in the morning and one in the evening.
The work outs are only for 45 mins so before you think you cant do any more it comes to the an end but afterwards you feel great and it sets you for the rest of the day. The classes are friendly
and i have made lots of new friends and enjoy going. Before i did boot camp i had not done any thing for over 10 years now i love going and cant believe i love going so much.
If you wondering if you could do it i would say go for it if i can do it then any one can and with jangos help you can get he body you have always wanted.
