Angel VS The Devil

I had to steal this from the recent winner of the 6 week body transformation, Sarah Winchester, as pretty much everyone can relate to it.

This is a daily battle in my life and your life.

Unfortunately it’s not as simple as just making a choice.

Is it the right one or the wrong one?

Decisions… decisions…

They are a pain sometimes, aren’t they??

But without them, life would be pretty stale and boring.

Seeing the coca cola van everywhere means it’s almost Christmas, so that means double the amount of temptations at home, socially and most definitely in the work place.

But the really funny thing is, I knew it was xmas soon way before I started seeing the coca cola van.

Having been in the fitness industry for quite sometime now, I’ve started to notice certain funny behavior’s with people and their eating patterns and habits.

I get lots of people telling me how well they are doing when they’ve been good.

Good being – sticking the wholesome food groups and avoiding sugar, carbs and things nice.

So….people tell me how well they are doing for a few weeks, everything is going great, they are feeling really good, motivated, energized and strong, which, is great for me because people are listening to what I am teaching them. So it’s a win win situation!

People get results and my job becomes that much more fun!

And then things go quiet for a week or so, and I start to wonder what’s going on?

Is so and so ok….?

Now I’m not the kind of person to have paddy if people go off track and binge on the wrong foods… we are all human after all.

So to keep things fun and interesting! I catch people of guard and ask them how things are going??

“You’ve been really quiet recently Mrs Smith” with a small intrigued grin on my face (I’ll keep names out of this blog post).

How are you getting on??

Are you still following your principles?

And well, what do you know, the silence was exactly what I had guessed it was for…

Mrs Smith had been digging into the cakes and biscuits at work.

At this point Mrs Smith was in shock because she had no idea how I knew and I was chuckeling because…. well, she had been caught out!

It’s all fun and games isn’t it really??

The problem is it’s difficult to stop once you’ve started, and if you don’t have someone to support you through it (to make you aware of what health choice you’re making). Before you even know it excuses to ‘start over’ or ‘I’ll start again on Monday’ without releasing the weeks, month’s and then a whole year has gone by living this way.

So, the balance between the ‘Angel’ on your right shoulder and the “devil’ on your left shoulder…. is way off!

The devil is smiling and laughing as the angel’s wings fall off…

There is moderation BUT moderation is the reason why you are at the current state of health you’re in now…

Winning the battle AGAINST YOURSELF will determine your CURRENT LIFESTYLE and RESULTS!

That little chat you have in your head when contemplating if you should or shouldn’t have XYZ…is just cheating yourself because, at the end of the day, its you that wants to lose weight and get results. It does not effect anyone else, it just effects you!

An angel needs to sore high above the devil when making good health choices, so you don’t even consider eating junk food up until and including the Christmas parties.

Would YOU rather, the Angel Wins or the Devil ??!!

I know which I would choose…

PS. For some people, it also takes someone else to remind you what road they are going down. Sometimes it takes a coach or a community, of motivated supportive people to keep you focused towards your goals.
